The XXII Commonwealth Games Birmingham 2022 is an upcoming international multi-sport event for Commonwealth nations scheduled to be held in Birmingham, England from 28 July to 8 August 2022. A total of 64 out of the 72 countries have confirmed to send 6,600 athletes to take part in 20 sports hosted.
The 20 sports are Aquatics, Athletics, Badminton, 3 x 3 Basketball, Beach Volleyball, Boxing, Cricket, Cycling, Gymnastics, Judo, Field Hockey, Lawn Bowls, Netball, Para Powerlifting, Rugby Sevens, Squash, Table Tennis, Triathlon, Weightlifting, & Wrestling. The Opening and Closing Ceremonies will be held at Alexander Stadium, one of the main venues. The Games is organised by Birmingham Organising Committee for 2022 Commonwealth Games (BOCCG) supported by Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF).
The Commonwealth Games is the only multi-sports international event that offers sports and related events for both able and disabled athletes. The medal tally is counted as a total number of medals won by athletes of both categories. Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) in collaboration with National Sports Council (MSN) and Paralympic Council of Malaysia (PCM) shall be sending our Malaysian Contingent to the Games. PCM shall be sending 12 athletes and officials to compete in 4 types of para sports, namely, Para Athletics, Para Powerlifting, Para Table Tennis and Wheelchair Basketball.

He broke the Commonwealth Games record THREE TIMES! 220 kg | 154.6 points in the men's lightweight. We are proud of you!

Handover Ceremony of Jalur Gemilang to the Malaysian Contingent

National Sports Council hosted the Handover Ceremony of Jalur Gemilang to the Malaysian Contingent bound for the 22nd Commonwealth Games Birmingham 2022 at Grand Hyatt Hotel in Kuala Lumpur on 19 July 2022. The ceremony was officiated by YAB Dato' Sri Ismail Sabri Bin Yaakob, Prime Minister of Malaysia. Attended by Dato' Sri Megat D. Shahriman Bin Dato' Zaharudin, President of Paralympic Council of Malaysia.
Eight para-athletes are part of the contingent taking part in Para Athletics, Para Powerlifting, Para Table Tennis, and Wheelchair Basketball. The Games are being held in Birmingham UK as from 28 July to 8 August 2022 and will see both abled and disabled athletes taking part in their respective competitions.
